The program will consist of lectures and on-the-water drills including tactics, strategy, sailtrim, boatspeed, etc., together with information on what is important fordeveloping a successful Olympic campaign. Coaches utilize daily video footage, archival footage, chalk talks, land demos and on-the-water exercises. A trainer is also brought in to work with the sailors on physical fitness routines and how to train their bodies to perform on the water. Nightly guest speakers and presentations round out the experience by showing the sailors what other avenues of sailing are available to them.

The Junior Fleet hosts this month's General Meeting. Our speaker will be coastal engineer Russ Boudreau who will present his program "TSUNAMIS! Everything you wanted to know, and maybe didnt want to know about Tsunamis." As a practicing coastal engineer, he will tell us about what causes tsunamis, and share dramatic realities of recent tsunamis in Japan, Chile and Indonesia. Are we at risk here at ABYC? What are the chances? He will also give some background of the sleeping giant known as the Cascadia Fault, and what that may mean to anyone living in near the coast the Pacific Northwest.
The Juniors will hold a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Junior Fund and will also be selling their Sea Bag totes made from recycled sails by Sea Bags, Inc. of Maine. We hope to see you there!
Another wonderful ABYC tradition where members come to the Club to help get us ready for Opening Day on May 5th.
Just show up in your work clothes and we'll assign a project.
See the attached flyer for details.
