ABYC will host this one-day regatta which will serve as the Area J Semifinal for the 2011 US Singlehanded Championships, both men's and women's divisions. It is a bring-your-own-boat event; men will sail Laser full-rigs and women Laser Radials. US SAILING MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

The Association of San Pedro Bay Yacht Clubs (ASPBYC) Harbor Challenge Race for the The Harbor Challenge Trophy In Memory of Walt Elliott is an interclub challenge for member clubs of the ASPBYC. A member club may challenge the current trophy holder--in this case, ABYC--and define the boat in which the challenge will be sailed; the defender hosts the event, and the winner takes the trophy--and must defend it against future challenges. Kind of like the America's Cup but without the lawyers...

The Memorial Day regatta is the first of ABYC's four Holiday Series events tied to holiday weekends. Two days of racing on both Alamitos Bay and in the Long Beach Harbor. The host fleet is the Cal 20 Fleet.
